SGV Vancouver is one of Canada's largest and most reputable
private ESL schools. As soon as you set foot into the campus, you're
immediately embraced by a bustling atmosphere of enjoyment and

Location:
SGV has two Vancouver campuses in Gastown and Yaletown and
students can be placed at either depending on their program and on
their level. The Gastown campus is located at 220 Cambie St. and is
easily accessible by Skytrain, Seabus and several different buses.
The campus is a five minute walk from Waterfront station, a central
hub for local transportation. The Yaletown campus is located at 888
Cambie St. The Yaletown campus is best accessed from the Stadium
Skytrain Station, but this will require about a five minute walk.
Programs:
General English:
SGV’s general English course will improve your social and
practical communication skills for everyday living. This course aims
to improve your knowledge of practical grammar structures, to expand
your vocabulary, to improve your pronunciation and to build your
confidence using English in a variety of settings. The course is
taught in 4-week self-contained units and there are 9 levels from
Beginner to Advanced. Your promotion through the levels is based on
your progress, class participation, homework and unit test results.
Business English:
SGV’s offers a 12-week business course that focuses on the
language of business and the development of business communication
skills. You need to be at Upper Elementary/Lower Intermediate to
enter Business English 1 and Intermediate/Upper Intermediate to
enter Business English 2.
Test Preparation Courses:
SGV offers several test preparation courses for the TOEFL, TOIEC,
Cambridge and IETLS exams. During class, students will learn test
taking techniques and have an opportunity to complete practice tests
to determine the areas they need to improve. Both the TOIEC and
IETLS are four week classes, offered 2.5 hours per day four days a
week. Students must be at least an intermediate level to enroll.
English Conversation:
This is a non-stop conversation course is designed to help
Elementary level students speak more naturally in a range of social
situations - shopping, traveling, at a party, etc. It focuses on
vocabulary and pronunciation. You can enroll from 1-8 weeks, 2 ½
hours a day, 5 days a week.
Teen Activity/School Holiday Program:
Offered in July/August each year, this fun program combines
morning English classes with a range of afternoon activities, sports
and excursions for students 12-17 years old. A full-day excursion is
also held each Saturday. Homestay, airport pick-up, tuition,
activities and excursion costs are all included in the package
price.

SGV has an impressive 47 fully air-conditioned classrooms
between its two locations.
Computer Lab:
There are two multimedia computer labs with 40 terminals with
free internet and email access. There is also one web enabled
classroom and a wireless network for Notebook computers.

30% Korean, 20% Japanese, 20-25% Swiss, 15% from South America
(including Mexico), 5% from Saudi Arabia, and the remaining 5% from
other European Countries (Germany, France, Spain).
Percentages vary in spring and summer, when the number of students
from Europe and South America increases.

There are four student lounges, cafeteria, washrooms on every
